EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Manitoba Federation of Labour - Occupational Health Centre, a non-profit publicly funded unionized community health centre, offers specialized occupational health services to the workers of Manitoba. We are seeking an Executive Director to lead a multidisciplinary professional and administrative staff in the delivery of services. The successful candidate should have an understanding and commitment to a community development model and processes. Reporting to a Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for finances and budgeting, administration and staffing, programming and development, public relations and fundraising of the Centre.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should have:
  • Post secondary education and management experience preferably in the non-profit health care sector or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in working with non-profit organizations - with an understanding of community health and occupational health and safety.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial management, policy development/implementation and Human Resource Management.
  • Knowledgeable and supportive of the principles and objectives of the labour movement, with preference given to candidates with direct experience within the union movement.
  • Experience with participatory management or team management structures.
  • Ability to work with community organizations, business, government and labour groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, interpersonal and computer-oriented).
