New Look for MFL WebsiteManitoba Federation of Labour President Darlene Dziewit has intiated a complete redesign and repurposing of the MFL Web site. "This marks a departure from simply maintaining a world wide web presence to an active effort to establish an informative, dynamic site that is an important stop on a user's weekly tour of the web," said Dziewit. "It's our goal to provide regular information updates to users and to give members of the media, students, the general public and rank and file union members access to important issue background information that can be downloaded for their use." Features of the new site will include space for our standing and ad hoc committees to publish information, PDF downloads of reports and background papers, upcoming events in the world of labour and information on strikes, lockouts and boycotts. Users will also have access to other labour and labour news sites through our links page. Dziewit added, "The fact is, organized labour cannot rely on others to make our information available to the provincial, national and international communities. We must do this ourselves. The new MFL website is an important step in not only making our story available to others, but to do so in an interesting way that will encourage return visits." The new look and a few new features are available on the web site now. Many more features and services will be added over the coming weeks and months. Comments, suggestions and overall input are invited by contacting John Doyle, MFL Communications and Research Coordinator. |
