Boycott of Robin Hood Products

The Canadian Labour Congress has endorsed a boycott of Horizon Milling and Robin Hood brands. The boycott is being implemented in support of 61 locked out members of UFCW Local 416P. In response to their fight for a fair and equitable collective agreement, the company locked them out on April 25, 2007.

Horizon Milling refines and distributes flour and baking products under the Robin Hood brand name. It is a branch of the Cargill Foods empire.

Since the lockout began, the company has been supplying its customers with products produced at other Horizon Milling locations. The company has not met with the union negotiating committee in over six months. The company's last offer to its workers, whose average seniority is 22 years, demanded a reduction in benefits, salary, and pensions, and downsizing of the workforce as well as a wage freeze for three years.
