Nominations Sought for MFL Youth Achievement Award

The Manitoba Federation of Labour's Youth Committee will be presenting a Youth Achievement Award at the June 2012 MFL Convention. The award will be presented to a union member who is under thirty years of age and:

  • is a member of a union affiliated to the Manitoba Federation of Labour;
  • has been active in their union/Manitoba Federation of Labour;
  • has made a significant contribution to the Labour movement in furthering the work of reaching out to young workers – organized and unorganized;
  • has furthered the objectives of the Manitoba Federation of Labour in increasing young workers participation both in the Federation and its affiliates.

Nominations for this award should be submitted by April 1, 2012 to Youth Achievement Award, c/o Executive Director, Manitoba Federation of Labour, 303 - 275 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4M6. E-mails will be accepted for the purposes of nominating a qualifying union member. An original signed submission, however, must be received by the MFL office by the nomination deadline. The nominator must present in writing their reasons for the nomination and why they feel that the nominee should be considered for the award by the Selection Committee.

The recipient of the MFL 2012 Youth Achievement Award will receive an award bearing the MFL Logo at the June Convention and the name of each recipient of the award will be added to a plaque that remains in the MFL office.
